The Learning Lighthouse Services

We provide 1-1 support for educational therapy and specialized academic instruction students with learning disabilities, including dyslexia, ADHD, processing disorders, and more. See below for more information on both the Learning Center and Academy Options. Our programs can be a partial school option, a supplement to regular schooling, or a full time option, all tailored to your student's needs. 

Our expert educators use evidence-based strategies, personalized learning plans, and multi-sensory instruction to help students build confidence, strengthen skills, and achieve academic success. Identifying potential learning disabilities in your child can be challenging, we are here to assist your child to excel and even begin a love for learning. 

 

Our Learning Center has programs tailored to each individual student for one-on-one programming based on the evaluations, diagnosis and need for each journey.

The Learning Lighthouse Academy is a full-time school opportunity for grades 6 - 12th, delivering an individualized path to graduation for students needing additional support in their learning endeavors.

Parents, below is a bulleted list of common signs associated with dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, and processing disorders. Recognizing these signs early can facilitate timely intervention and support. If your child exhibits several of these signs consistently, consider consulting with our educational professionals or specialists for a comprehensive evaluation. Early diagnosis and intervention can significantly improve learning outcomes.​​

Dyslexia
 

  • Difficulty connecting letters to sounds and recognizing words.

  • Challenges with spelling and decoding words.

  • Reading below the expected level for their age.

  • Avoidance of reading activities.

  • Difficulty understanding the sequence of events in a story.

Dyscalculia

  • Struggles with understanding quantities and basic math concepts.

  • Difficulty recognizing numbers and learning to count.

  • Challenges with math symbols and performing arithmetic operations.

  • Frequent errors in simple calculations.

  • Difficulty telling time and understanding time-related concepts.

Dysgraphia
 

  • Poorly formed or illegible handwriting.

  • Inconsistent spacing between letters and words.

  • Mixing cursive and print writing styles.

  • Difficulty organizing thoughts coherently on paper.

  • Frequent spelling errors and trouble recalling how to spell common words.

Auditory Processing Disorder
 

  • Difficulty distinguishing subtle differences in sounds.

  • Challenges following verbal instructions, especially in noisy environments.

  • Frequently asking for information to be repeated.

  • Struggles with reading and spelling due to sound discrimination issues.

Visual Processing Disorder
 

  • Difficulty interpreting visual information, such as letters and numbers.

  • Challenges with reading comprehension and math due to visual misinterpretation.

  • Frequent reversals of letters or numbers when writing.

  • Trouble with spatial orientation, leading to clumsiness.
